Fireplaces
Wood, gas, electric and fully custom — with log sets and accessories to finish them.
Which type of fireplace is right for your home?
Wood gives traditional heat and the fire to tend. Gas gives push-button warmth with low maintenance. Electric installs almost anywhere because it needs no venting. DaVinci builds to your dimensions when none of the standard sizes fit the room.

Fireplaces questions
Which type of fireplace is right for my home?
It depends on whether you want ambiance, heat, or both, and on your venting. Wood offers traditional heat, gas gives push-button convenience, electric installs almost anywhere, and DaVinci allows fully custom designs. We help you choose in the showroom.
What is the difference between a fireplace and an insert?
A fireplace is the whole unit, built in as part of the room. An insert is a sealed firebox that fits inside a masonry fireplace you already have, to make it far more efficient. If you have an open fireplace already, look at inserts.
What is the current trend in fireplaces?
Two things. Linear gas fireplaces, which give a wide horizontal flame and a panoramic view rather than copying a log fire, and fully custom units like DaVinci that are built to the dimensions of the room instead of chosen from standard sizes.
What are the downsides of an open fireplace?
It heats badly. Much of the warmth goes straight up the chimney, which is the entire reason inserts exist. There is also ash to clear and a chimney to clean each year. An insert fixes the heat loss without losing the fireplace.
Do electric fireplaces need venting?
No, and that is the main reason to choose one. Without a flue or gas line to run, an electric fireplace can go in rooms where wood or gas would mean serious building work.
