How To Get Started – Replacements
BEFORE

Using an old masonry chimney offers classic aesthetics and maintains the original character of your home but can be less efficient and prone to heat loss. It may require frequent maintenance, including cleaning and repairs to prevent creosote buildup and ensure safety. On the other hand, installing a new efficient insert enhances energy efficiency by producing more heat with less fuel, reduces emissions, and provides better control over the fire. Inserts also require less maintenance and can be a safer option, offering a modern solution while preserving the charm of the existing chimney.
Old wood, pellet and gas stoves often lack the efficiency and safety features of modern models. They tend to consume more fuel, produce higher emissions, and offer less control over heat output. New wood, pellet and gas stoves, however, are designed with advanced technology for greater fuel efficiency, cleaner burns, and improved temperature regulation. They meet stricter environmental standards and include safety enhancements, like better insulation and automatic shut-off features. Modern stoves also provide a more consistent heat output, making them more economical and environmentally friendly while offering a wider range of styles and functionalities.

How to get started-process
At Green Heat we want our customers to feel welcomed and comfortable. Purchasing a stove or a fireplace is a huge investment and meaningful purchase in one’s lives. We often hear customers say they don’t know where to start. We are here to help you, guide you and take you through the process start to finish. And it doesn’t stop there. We also provide advice, service and loyalty to anyone who comes through our doors.
Our process
Step 1 – The Shop
After researching through our website or others we urge you to stop in our shop. We have friendly staff that will sit in a relaxed environment free from any pressure. We love what we do and enjoy working with our customers. You may already have an idea of what fuel source you’re looking for or maybe you can’t choose between wood, gas or pellet. That’s ok. Our staff here at Green Heat will talk about all the pros and cons. They will answer all questions and offer advice based on years of experience as well as other factors. If you’re looking to build from new, remodel an existing room, or just looking for a new stove our staff will sit down with you to come up with a plan.
Bring pictures of both inside your home and the outside chimney. Pictures of your old stove and chimney pipe. Pictures of your fireplace. Bring measurements of your fireplace (See measurement guide in our Insert Section). Most of the time you will walk away with an estimate in hand based on the visit.
Step 2 – Estimate/Pre-Site
Once you’ve established what you’re looking for the next step is to have us come to your home for a site visit/estimate. We offer this at no cost regardless of whether you choose Green Heat for your project.
Step 3 – Deposit
- Establishes an invoice.
- We order the fireplace/stove.
- We supply all the information needed to obtain a permit (When applicable).
- Schedule the installation date.
Step 4 – Installation
Typically, all installations are completed in 1 day with few exceptions including projects where we may add tiling or stonework to a job. We work with the customers to come up with a date that works. Green Heat always maintains professionalism throughout the installation leaving the job as clean if not cleaner than when we arrived.
At the end of the install, we go over the fireplace/stove operationally. If it’s a wood installation the customer always receives our exclusive “wood school” which is always a highlight for our customers.
Step 5 – After the installation
It doesn’t end here. We have great relationships with our customers. We offer cleanings, service, pellets and advice at all times with a smile. Word of mouth and our reputation, not only for our installation skills but our process from the 1st day to the last day, means a lot to us here at Green Heat.
